Workshop IAI4CH 2023 – Artificial Intelligence for Cultural Heritage

The IAI4CH 2023 workshop brought together experts to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence in Cultural Heritage. The event fostered interdisciplinary research, promoting AI applications for the study, preservation, and dissemination of cultural content while addressing ethical and sustainability challenges.
The workshop facilitated the exchange of experiences and best practices in Cultural Heritage computing and AI, strengthening international collaborations and building synergies with key conferences such as TPDL and IRCDL.
During the event, Amina El Ganadi (Digital Humanities PhD student,) presented the paper Bridging Islamic Knowledge and AI: Inquiring ChatGPT on Possible Categorizations for an Islamic Digital Library, (A. El Ganadi, R. A. Vigliermo, L. Sala, M. Vanzini, F. Ruozzi, S. Bergamaschi) AI’s role in enhancing Islamic digital heritage.
IAI4CH 2023 was part of the AIxIA 2023 Conference, which took place in Rome and was organized by the three federated Roman universities (Roma Tre University, Sapienza University of Rome and University of Rome Tor Vergata) together with the CNR.
