Religious Studies and the citizens: European Researchers’ Night 2024

The project ITSERR takes part at European Researchers’ Night 2024 (September 27th) -the largest research communication and promotion event taking place across EU Member States – to show the impact of researchers’ work on citizens’ daily lives.

ITSERR is the Italian research project aimed at enhancing the ESFRI RESILIENCE Research Infrastructure. It receives NextGenerationEU funding to combine research on religious studies, information technology and engineering and enhance knowledge about religions. By endorsing new technological paradigms, the project is willing to play a pivotal role in enriching the diversity, the quality and innovative capacity of such a knowledge, whose ultimate impact is expected to insist on the citizen’s religious literacy..

To increase awareness and public recognition of research and innovation lead by the project’s teams, the researchers working for ITSERR will be protagonist of several initiatives contributing to the European Researchers’ Night across the Italian Universities and Research Centers. All the initiatives are focused to show how a high interdisciplinary project, which foresees the collaboration between humanists (such as experts on History, Archaeology, Philology and Christian, Islamic and Jewish Studies) and IT engineers is enhancing the digital turn within the domain of Religious Studies with surprising achievements and promises to be of high value for a more sound and informed knowledge about religions.
